About the Cortland County Strategic Development Plan

Cortland County is creating a Strategic Development Plan that will outline a vision, goals, and strategies for future growth throughout the County. The plan will act as a guiding document for County policy making and detail how to attract new investment and negotiate development deals that enhance quality of life and opportunity.

Built on the foundation of an inclusive public engagement process, this plan will ensure that the community is in control of its own destiny as it relates to the goals and aspirations of those who call Cortland County home.

Throughout this process, the County will be hosting events and meetings to gather input from residents, property owners, business owners, local elected officials, and various other stakeholders. Time: 10:30 AM - 7:30 PM

Location: Center For The Arts of Homer

The Community Summit is an opportunity to learn more about the initial public feedback, key findings, and core themes of the Elevate Cortland Strategic Development Plan.

We believe the communities’ participation and insights will be invaluable to the success of the event and plan.

The Summit Schedule:

Starting the day with 4 topic based presentations & discussions

10:30 AM – 12:00 PM - Economic & Workforce Development

12:00 PM – 2:00 PM – Housing

2:00 PM – 3:30 PM – Open Space & Environment

3:30 PM – 5:00 PM – Connectivity & Coordinated Growth

Ending the day with an overview presentation & discussion

6:00 PM – 7:30 PM – Presentation of Strategic Development Plan Progress & Direction (Child Care will be available on-site)
